Intent

The word Odium is defined as "an intense hatred or dislike." Thus, it appears that Odium seeks to cause infighting, discord, and torture.

Associated magic

Unknown at this time. Odium may have something to do with Voidbinding.

History

The Shard Odium did not initially start out on Roshar after Adonalsium Shattered.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content

The major goal of Odium is to become the last whole Shard left in the cosmere, the only being at his power level.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content In order to accomplish this goal he killed Aona and Skai on Sel,Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content and Tanavast on Roshar.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content In addition to that he Splintered the Shards that they held: Devotion, Dominion,Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content and Honor.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content This prevented anyone taking up those Shards to challenge him again,Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content although it unknown at this time if Splintering a Shard is permanent or not.

Odium could also have taken the power from the Shards whose holders were killed but he chose not too. The intents of these other Shards would alter Odium's own intent. He doesn't want to destroy who he views himself as being, so he doesn't take their power and so his nature will remain the same.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content

Honor implies that Odium is the cause of the True Desolation,Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content and if not the leader of the Voidbringers, then at least allied with them.
