The fifth book of the Stormlight Archive is the planned ending to the front half of the series.[2] It will be released around Fall of 2024, and its title will have the initials KoWT or KoW; as of the 2nd of December, 2022, he has several good options for this title in consideration,[3][4][5] and his preference as of that December 22 was revealed to be Knights of Wind and Truth, though this is not necessarily final.[6]

Trivia

  • More of Roshar's queer characters will be canonized in Book Five, as stated by Brandon Sanderson.[13] One of these is planned to be Renarin[14][15][16], and Rlain.[14][15][17]
  • The planned ending was based upon the ending he planned out for an RPG in 1999, and has been in the outline from the start. Brandon hopes that it will land right with people and recontextualize many important moments in the series.[18]
