Merit is a groom on Roshar.[1]
Merit was one of six darkeyed soldiers that Adolin Kholin selected to join a diplomatic mission to Lasting Integrity sent by the coalition of monarchs. Adolin selected trustworthy, levelheaded men that had a variety of skills, and he knew that Merit's training as a groom would be useful. Merit was present in Urithiru when the team departed and led the pack animals onto the Oathgate.[1]
During the team's journey in Shadesmar, he removed the supplies that Gallant was carrying in order to give him a rest.[2] Merit was presumably experienced with Ryshadium, as Gallant was known to have disdain for common grooms.[3] Merit returned to Urithiru within a few weeks after Adolin surrendered to the honorspren.[4]
