Droz is Liaforan. He is lanky and has dark brown eyes and skin. He is curious about Kaza's royal lineage and her Soulcasting savanthood, and strikes up a conversation with her before she scares him away.[1]

Droz accompanied his captain Vazrmeb in pursuit of rumored hidden treasure on the island of Akinah in Aimia. He was eager to make the dangerous journey as he believed rumors that "generations" of greatshells had left their gemhearts on the island.[1]

First Dreams sailed north from Liafor with a mercenary crew and encountered an intense storm on the Aimian Sea that abruptly ended near Akinah.[1] Droz managed to keep the ship afloat, although some of the crew were swept overboard.[1] He boarded one of the ship's dinghies in an attempt to reach the island, but he was poisoned and killed along with the rest of the crew by the ship's cook, a Dysian Aimian posing as a human.[1]
