Shob is one of Shallan's men.[1][2] He is constantly saying that he has come down with something, saying to Shallan that he is dying, and then later tells Veil that he is coming down with something. He seems to exaggerate this, as he shows a so-called rash on his arm, when the arm is perfectly normal.[1][2]

He speaks in an accent reminiscent of our world's cockney, though some sentences come out in normal common/vorin. Specifically, he seems to say"Oi" in place of I, except after being questioned about "dem orphans,": his next sentence comes out without accent at all. It seems more likely that the accent is forced by the character than that this is a transcription error on the part of the author/editor. [2]

Shob used to be in Sadeas's army, though his position is unknown, he then left for also unknown reasons, and was a part of a group that was led by Vathah, or Sarge as Shob calls him, roaming the Unclaimed Hills and stealing food.
