Idrin is the head of the King's Guard on the Shattered Plains prior to Kaladin assuming its command.[1]
He is a dark-skinned Alethi, with possibly some Azish ancestry, has green eyes, and wears a full beard.
He longed to be proving himself on the battlefield instead of standing guard, and Kaladin had been impressed by him and his team.[2] He is present during the highstorm prior to the balcony collapsing in the king's room. After this Idrin is reassigned to the army by Dalinar, and Kaladin takes command of the King's Guard.
