Elthebar is a stormwarden in the Kholin warcamp on the Shattered Plains of Roshar.[1]

History

Initially, Highprince Dalinar Kholin refused the aid of stormwardens, such as Elthebar, but later he accepted them due to the military advantage they offered.[1] Though it was unlikely for stormwardens to be wrong about coming highstorms, Elthebar didn't predict one that occurred in 1173 while Dalinar and Renarin were riding back from a private conversation with King Elhokar Kholin at the Pinnacle.[2] Dalinar and Renarin hardly got to Dalinar's warcamp before the storm broke free and were forced to take shelter in a barrack. Dalinar was struck by another vision in front of all his men. Elthebar also often tried to predict the weather for Dalinar, but his promises were always filled with caveats.

In Urithiru he is considered head of the stormwardens, and is present during the first meeting which Renarin joins. He interrupts a report by Kalami and insults Teshav's intelligence for questioning him. Shallan considers him rude.[3] He calculated the timing of the storm in which Dalinar took Venli into the visions with Nohadon.[4]
