Dazewater was a clear liquid, and very expensive.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content In order to put a patient under, it was poured onto a rag or bandage and then pressed to the patient's face, over their mouth and nose. When the patient breathed it in, pain lessened and the patient would become nonsensical, speaking gibberish and grinning.

Dazewater was so potent that the surgeon who applied it had to hold his breath in order to avoid breathing it in themselves.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content In order to dispose of the dazewater, the rag it was soaked in had to be burned. The heat negated the dazewater, causing it to steam off the cloth. Dazewater was also used to ease a person's pain as he died.

Lirin had Kaladin administer dazewater to Roshone and Rillir after they returned, injured, from their whitespine hunt.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content
