Speculation

This page or section deals with theories or speculation.
Please read carefully and note that this is not necessarily canonical.

It is implied that the Nahel bond forms between Spren and Surgebinders. It is theorised that the bond is what lets them Surgebind, and the type of spren they bond determines the powers they gain (and ultimately which order of Radiants they could join). For example, bonding an honorspren would give you the powers of a Windrunner, while bonding a Cryptic would give you the powers of a Lightweaver.
