Szeth-son-son-Vallano, Truthless of Shinovar, was a Shin from Roshar. He was short and bald like most Shin and his eyes were normally dark green, but changed to pale sapphire blue when he summoned his Shardblade. He was 29 years old when he murdered King Gavilar. Presumably he is son of Neturo, who is son of Vallano.[citation needed]
Story
Szeth carried an Oathstone which indicated his ownership, whoever owned his Oathstone owned Szeth. He was obliged by his honor to do whatever he was commanded by the one who held it with two exceptions, he was forbidden to allow himself to be killed and he was forbidden to give up his Shardblade.
He was named Truthless at age 27 and was traded to the Thaylen merchant Vistin shortly afterwards. At some later point was owned by the Parshendi.
He wore white on the day he killed King Gavilar, this lead to him being known as the Assassin in white.
After he killed Gavilar, his Oathstone was picked up by Avado, a merchant, who took him to Jah Keved.[citation needed]
Powers & abilities
He possessed a Shardblade and was a Surgebinder who had Windrunner powers. Whether he was bound to an honorspren like the other known Windrunner, Kaladin, is unknown. Szeth seemed to possess a relatively large knowledge of the Windrunner order of the Knights Radiant knowing the name of the order as well as their name for their powers the three Lashings.
