The Ring is a group of spren in the Cognitive Realm.

Purpose

It is not certain why the Ring exists, but it is likely that they serve some governmental purpose for the spren. They can force spren to do things that they do not want to do.

Previous actions

They were responsible for Wyndle's choice of Lift as a bond-partner. This was based on the fact that Lift had previously visited the Nightwatcher.[1] They thought it would be easier to bond somebody partially in the Cognitive Realm. They may be attempting to reform the Knights Radiant by forming bonds with humans [citation needed].
