Attributes and Abilities
Nem is a lensmaker, astronomer and gemstone expert.[1] She is one of Navani's trusted scholars and handles expensive and delicate equipment. She has extensive knowledge about gemhearts and gemstones and is able to estimate a gem's level of perfection.[2]
History
Nem was a member of Navani's team of scholars. She examined the black sphere that Gavilar gave to Szeth. She concluded that the sphere was practically perfect and could hold Stormlight for a very long time. Navani asked her and Talnah to study the black sphere, including trying to use it to power different fabrials.[2] Both of them died in an explosion caused by the sphere while they were experimenting with it in their shared laboratory.[1]
