Kalak survived one of the Desolations and thought of the place where the Heralds go when they die or a Desolation has ended. He met with Jezrien at the meeting place of all the surviving Heralds.

Kalak considered the people they are abandoning, as well as Talenel.
The word Kelek, and the phrase "Kelek's Breath" were used profanely.
