Tarn, referred to as "Old Tarn" by Jost, is a farmer who lives in Hearthstone on Roshar.

Circa 1166, he discovered a patch of cultivated lavis polyps that were not growing correctly. He gave a group of young workers (including Jost, Jest, Mord, Tift, Naget, and Khav) the day off from worming the fields so that he and the other adults could decide whether or not to replant that area.[1]
