Elit is a Shardbearer on the Shattered Plains.[1] His cousin is Relis Ruthar. Though he is a passable duelist, he is overshadowed by Relis. He thirsts to prove himself, so he lets Adolin goad him into a duel in Words of Radiance. He fights four on one against Adolin, along with Relis, Abrobadar and Jakamav, but ends up losing when Adolin receives assistance from Renarin and Kaladin.[citation needed]
