Vinebud is a type of rockbud, native to many regions of Roshar.[1] Vinebud plants have an elastic, hollow stem that their leaves, vine-like tendrils and cone-like flowers retract into as it expands outward. The plants retract for the highstorm, but also when they detect nearby motion. [2]

Gardeners on Roshar have cultivated a variety of vinebud that does not retract back into its stem. It is used as a houseplant.[3]

Trivia

The design for vinebuds was based on sea anemone.[1]
