He was called Kelek in Vorinism.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content According to the religion, he was associated with the Essence Foil and the Attributes Resolute and Builder. He was number Kak on the Ten Essences table.

Kalak survived one of the Desolations and thought of the place where the Heralds went either after they've died, or a Desolation has ended. He then met with Jezrien at the designated meeting spot for all the surviving Heralds, but noticed only Jezrien was waiting there. Apparently the seven other Heralds had decided to leave the Oathpact, leaving there Honorblades stuck point down, forming a circle. Jezrien was chosen to stay behind, unsure whether Kalak had perished or not. Kalak then confessed that he could not go back to wherever it was Heralds were meant to go due to the torturous conditions they faced. Jezrien agreed and declared the Oathpact ended, leaving Talenel as sole bearer of the burdens. Kalak and Jezrien left in opposite directions, both their Honorblades left behind with the other seven.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content

Kalak considered the people they were abandoning, as well as Talenel.

The word Kelek, and the phrase "Kelek's Breath" were used profanely.
