Windstance is a sword fighting style used on Roshar. Windstance made use of sweeping strokes and graceful motions while fighting.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content It is as of yet unknown whether or not these techniques are used exclusively by Shardbearers or not.

Techniques

  • Beginning position - The user stands slightly sideways, hands held in front of him, with his elbows bent, and his blade pointing slightly backwards towards his headCite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content
  • Turn - The user shifts his feet and lowers his shoulder while throwing his weight behind the swing of his swordCite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content
  • Offensive Forms - The user attacks with a sweeping motion, knocking an opponent's blade out of their defensive posture. The user fights with a series of quick and unnerving small blows.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content
  • Block - When being attacked by an overhand blow, the user lowers his blade with his right hand and catches his opponent's blow on his left vambrace.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content The user can follow up his block with an attack from the side.
