Tinalar is an Alethi Shardbearer who lives on Roshar during the Era of Solitude.[1]

Tinalar possesses a Shardblade, but no Shardplate.[1] Considering the young Adolin Kholin to be merely a well-dressed fop, Tinalar duels him, hoping to embarrass Adolin's father, Dalinar Kholin and win Adolin's Plate. However, Adolin wins the duel and claims Tinalar's Shardblade as his own.
