Only the very ends of the prickletac is actually alive.[1] It is composed of a series of tiny buds, each with a single spine on it. Every new generation grows on top of the deceased generation below it. After a generation of prickletac died, its remnant became stone-like, creating strong and inflexible limbs.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content

Prickletac spread by a limb breaking off and forming a new plant.[1]
