Origin
World Roshar
This page or section needs to be updated with new information for Oathbringer!
Be aware that in its current state, it may not include all additional content yet.

The Origin of Storms is where highstorms are formed. Rosharians believe that it exists far to the east, possibly across or in the Ocean of Origins.[1]

In the story Hoid tells to Kaladin, Derethil and the Wandersail, there is thought to be another Origin to the west, where the Voidbringers were spawned. King Derethil, sailing far to the west, finds a whirlpool where the ocean drains ringed by islands populated by the Uvara people.[2]

In the first Oathbringer interlude, Puuli references "the sailors lost on an infinite sea" who "come from the hidden island of the Origin." His grandfather believed these men from the Origin would "come with Light in their pockets" and "to destroy."

Speculation

This page or section deals with theories or speculation.
Please read carefully and note that this is not necessarily canonical.

The origin is thought to be Honor's shardpool, though this is only speculation at this time.[citation needed]
