The Misted Mountains were a mountain range located on the eastern border of Shinovar on Roshar.[1]
They served as a windbreak for the whole nation, weakening the highstorms enough to protect the country and its inhabitants from the destructive power of the storms.[1] Due to this effect, the flora and fauna of Shinovar were not defined by surviving the highstorms, so they were vastly different from the rest of Roshar.
Trivia
- The Misted Mountains, much like Robert Jordan's Mountains of Mist, are a homage to J. R. R. Tolkien's Misty Mountains.[2]
