Makam had a sap with a strong musky odor.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content It was a dark brown hardwood, with grain that was barely visible. Makam was a strong and light wood. All mobile bridges were made of makam as it was light enough to be carried by the bridgemen, but strong enough to stand a heavy cavalry charge.
