A lighteyes is a person with lightly colored eyes such as blue or green. In Alethkar they form the nobility. They are of higher rank than darkeyes. A lighteyes of notable rank is called a Brightlord.

Kaladin's eyes changes during his fight to save Dalinar. Although they changed back afterwards.[1]

It might be that the reasons are that the Knights Radiant all were using Surgebinding and Shards, and thus all had light eyes even if they didn't have them at birth.
