Homeworld Roshar

Extes is a man on Roshar who, according to mythology, sacrificed his son to the Voidbringers in exchange for knowledge about the day of his death.[1] He was punished by being made immortal, and then having his arms torn off every day.

His story was one of many involving men made immortal and then tortured for eternity.[1] This is potentially related to the Heralds, who were immortal and tortured in Damnation after every Desolation.[2]
