Dahn was a ranking system in which the lower number you are, the more highly you are ranked (So Second Dahns are more highly ranked than Third Dahn). Only lighteyes belonged to any sort of dahn, darkeyes were classed in a lower system altogether called nahn. However Darkeyes could be promoted to the equivalent of a Dahn rank, for example Kaladin was eventually promoted to the equivalent of a Lighteyes of the Fourth Dahn.
