Alaward is a member of Kholinar Wall Guard, and is a part of Platoon Seven, Squad Two.

Appearance

Kaladin describes Alaward as an Alethi heavyset man with obvious Thaylen heritage.

Aquaintance with Kaladin

Alaward, being a part of the same squad as Kaladin was required to, knew Kaladin as a fellow soldier. Alaward and another member named Vaceslv tried multiple times to get Kaladin to play cards with them, though Kaladin declined, thinking of his experiences with Sah and the other voidbringers. He belongs to Kaladin's squad, Platoon Seven, Squad Two. Kaladin refers to him as being a heavyset man who tried to convince him to play cards with the squad, but Kaladin refuses because the experience reminds him too much like Sah and the parshmen. Once his highmarshall, Azure, joined Shallan, Alaward and the rest of his squad followed Kaladin into Kholinar palace, and took place in the Battle of Kholinar once it happened. Because no further mention of him is made, he probably dies there along with almost all of the rest of his squad.
