Margel was the mother of Spook, and sister of Clubs.[1] When Spook was a child, she let him run around with the other skaa children, which resulted in him learning, much to the annoyance of his father, eastern street slang. After she discovered that Spook was a Misting, Margel sent for her brother, Clubs, in the hopes that he would take the boy so that they wouldn't have to kill him. Given the time it took Clubs to travel from Luthadel, she likely knew about Spook's powers before the rest of the family, but kept them secret.[2] When Clubs offered money in return for taking Spook, she convinced her husband to accept; she felt this was the most she could do for Spook.[1]
