A currently untitled film set in the Final Empire on Scadrial based upon Mistborn: The Final Empire.[1] Paloppa Pictures, LLC optioned the original Mistborn trilogy in January 2010, and were shopping a script to studios in April 2012.[2] The option expired in January 2014.[3][4] DMG Entertainment optioned most of the Cosmere in October 2016, though the Mistborn film was not worked on much while they had the option.[5] In 2019, Brandon stated that he was planning to work on a screenplay himself,[6] and DMG's option on the Mistborn series expired in 2020. Brandon stated in his 2020 and 2021 updates that he was still working "in a hands on way" on a Mistborn film.[7][8]
