Cosahn then studied the girl's appearance, as Sazed had asked her to cut her hair. He thought it was now long enough to be cut stylishly. Cosahn is a skaa servant on Scadrial during the Final Empire. She is a member of Mansion Renoux's staff in Fellise.[1]

Appearance and Personality

She is middle-aged and relatively tall for a skaa. She has a professional air, and is polite and methodical. She is also modest.[1]

History

After Vin joined Kelsier's crew, Kelsier planned to have her pose as a noblewoman by the name of Valette Renoux. Vin joined the crew at their secret headquarters in Fellise. She made a point to memorize the names of the skaa staff, including Cosahn, if only to keep tabs on them.[1]

Styling Vin as "Valette"

As part of Vin's transformation into Valette, she needed to have her hair styled like a noble. Cosahn and Sazed met with her in the kitchens of the mansion, as Cosahn was skilled at cutting hair. When Vin arrived, Sazed introduced her to Cosahn. Cosahn then studied the girl's appearance and agreed with Sazed that her hair had grown long enough to be adequately cut and styled, although she couldn't 'perform miracles'.[1]

Cosahn assessed Vin's hair and complimented its beauty, remarking that the women of the court would be envious of such hair. At the same time, she was very frank about how ill-kept it was, expressing disappointment that Vin did not take better care of it. Sazed promised that Vin's hair would receive more attention, appeasing Cosahn, who nodded to herself as she worked. She took her time, trimming Vin's bangs as well. As she was finishing, Kelsier arrived. He complimented Cosahn's skills, and she received his praise with some embarrassment, flattered. Vin requested a mirror, which Cosahn provided. Vin was amazed by the difference in her appearance after Cosahn's work. Kelsier once again complimented Cosahn, for she had evened out the hair, gotten rid of the snags and gotten it to lay flat. Cosahn told him she was not yet done, and so Kelsier urged her to continue. She did so, as he and Sazed stepped outside to speak privately.[1]

After Vin's hair had grown some more, Cosahn cut and styled it again so that it fell around her ears, with a slight curl.[2]

Later Events

The Steel Ministry eventually linked Vin to Valette and attacked a Renoux convoy as it retreated from Fellise; many of the mansion's staff were killed or taken prisoner and used as bait to draw out Kelsier.[3][4] However, Cosahn is not mentioned during these events and her fate is unclear.
