Nightblood is the working title for the sequel to Warbreaker. Brandon has stated there is no set release date for Nightblood.[1] Following the release of Words of Radiance Brandon has said that Nightblood is closer to being written, however he does not have the time to work on it when he is "juggling multiple teen series" (namely The Reckoners and The Rithmatist) so it is still on the "back-burner".[2]
This project is still on hold, with no definite plans to be worked on.[3]
It will be set closer to the events of Warbreaker, but an exact timeline doesn't exist yet.[4] It may include the history of the Five Scholars and flashbacks to the Manywar.[5] It may also explain how Vasher and Nightblood became separated.[6]
