Sel

Sel was the planet on which Elantris was set.

An Earthlike Shardworld, Sel was inhabited by humans and artificially created beings called Seons. The planet was the location of Elantris. Sel is dominated by the Fjordell Empire, with Arelon and Teod being the only remaining free nations. All these nations (except the island-state Teod) were situated on the continent of Opelon (named Sycla by the Fjordell Empire). Sel was orbited by one moon.

Geography and Culture

The main populated continent on Sel was called Opelon by those in the west and Syclan by those in the east. The peninsula of another continent was populated by the nation of Teod. Many of the nations on Opelon after the Shaod had been subsumed into the Fjordell Empire, including the Duladell Republic and all the states to the east of the Dathreki Mountains: Jindo, Jaador, Hraggen, Geant and Hrovell. The nations of Arelon and Teod and the city state Elantris were the only states independent of the empire.

Cosmere

The planet played resident to two shards, Aona's Shard and Dominion (held by Skai). Odium visited, killing both Aona and Skai, and shattering the two shards.^{[citation needed]} It is also known that Hoid visited.^{[citation needed]}
