Jak is a Scadrian nobleman, a Tineye, and an explorer. He explores distant and dangerous locations, including the Pits of Eltania. His sensationalized adventures are published in the Elendel Daily, The House Record, and The New Ascendancy. He is accompanied by Handerwym, a Terrisman.[1][2]

He supposedly trained with an order of possibly fictional monks who taught him how to fight. He also supposedly studied ballet, which enhanced his balance.[3]
