O'Brien is a soldier and tech operative who is on Hershel's Special Forces team when Calamity granted powers to all the Epics. O’Brien was present when Steelheart gained his powers during a raid on a Russian satellite facility. O’Brien lost an arm when one of Steelheart’s energy blasts clipped him on the shoulder, and despite only having one arm, O’Brien still managed to fire his rifle at Steelheart. He was killed by Steelheart soon after.[1]
