He gets wounded by shrapnel during a mission in Galveston.[2] He later betrays his fellow Reckoners to Lifeforce, and is rewarded with luxurious housing and food, as well as getting his disfigured face made whole again.[1] He tries to rationalize his decision, but he is consumed with his guilt.
