Whimsy is a Shard of Adonalsium that has not been Splintered and whose Vessel is unknown.[1]

History

Like all Shards, Whimsy was created at the Shattering of Adonalsium, and picked up by an unknown Vessel.[2] It is not known what Whimsy did directly after their Ascension, or where they settled, if they settled at all.

Some time around the True Desolation, Harmony, by Hoid's request, reached out to Whimsy about the threat posed by Odium, but their exchange left him with the impression that Whimsy would not be particularly useful.[3][1] Members of the Set were aware of the existence of Whimsy.[4]

Intent

Very little is known about Whimsy's Intent, outside it not being congruous with intense planning and ambitions.[4] It is also not calculating or deliberate.[5]

Trivia

  • Hoid would not be happy to take up the Whimsy Shard.[5]
  • Whimsy is the most dangerous Shard to a person's sense of decorum and self-worth.[6]
  • In Magic:The Gathering colors, Whimsy would be mono-red.[7]
