Denth or VaraTreledees[1][2] is one of the Five Scholars from Nalthis.[3]

Denth has the royal locks separately from being a returned [4]

Pre-Warbreaker

Little is known of Denth's life before he shows up in Helandren. Denth was a scholar before the Many war and hates Vasher for Killing his sister Shashara and does not care that Vasher did it to protect the secret of Awakening steel.

After the Manywar he takes the name Denth and joins a mercenary band with Tonk Fah, Jewels, and Lifeless Clod (formarly the Returned Arsteel).

He conspires with the Pahn Kahl rebels to overthrow the God King's parliament. He kidnaps Vivenna, acting as a friend to her, and uses her to push for war against Idris. Later, after Vivenna is kidnapped by Vasher, Denth and Tonk Fah torture and kill Parlin, Vivenna's friend. During the Pahn Kahl rebellion, Denth catches Vasher, hangs him by his wrists, and interrogates him. Afterward, Vasher escapes, along with Vivenna's help. Denth is killed by Vasher via duel at the end of the Pahn Kahl rebellion.
