Identity is an ability within the Cosmere that allows a being to have sentience.
Feruchemy
In Feruchemy, Identity is stored in Aluminum. As far as we know, it cannot be accessed by Allomancy or Hemalurgy.
Medallions
An unsealed metalmind is created by a Feruchemist filling an aluminummind while filling the metalmind with the desired trait or power.
