A focus is a specific magic-related term in the cosmere, something which "focuses" a magic system.^{[citation needed]}

• The Metallic Arts' focus is metal^{[citation needed]}
• The focus of Awakening are the Commands^{[citation needed]}

It is not clear what focuses exist on Roshar for Surgebinding. It has been suggested that Stormlight itself is the focus there, though it could be the Spren.^{[citation needed]}
