Mistborn is a fantasy series by Brandon Sanderson.

It is most well known as a trilogy, but there will be additional instalments.

Era 1: The First Trilogy

The first Mistborn trilogy chronicles the efforts of a group of Allomancers who attempt to overthrow a dystopian empire and establish themselves in a world covered by ash.

The three books of the trilogy are:

Era 2: Mistborn Adventures

Set about 300 years after the first trilogy, the Mistborn Adventures are about the exploits of Waxillium Ladrian, a "wild-west Deputy" forced to move into the big city, and starts investigating kidnappings and robberies.

Brandon has stated that it will be "Alloy of Law plus a trilogy".[4] The Lost Metal is the tentative title for the fourth book.[3]

Brandon has also said that he may do some more works before the second trilogy, set in a 1940's society.[3]

Second Mistborn Trilogy

Set soon after the Mistborn Adventures, the second trilogy is about a Mistborn serial killer.[5] It supposedly introduces the Southern Peoples of Scadrial.[6]

It will be set in a 1980's society. It will probably be released after any Elantris sequels.[3] Peter has suggested that it is planed for 2020's release.[7]

Third Mistborn Trilogy

The third trilogy is going to be a space-opera with Allomancy powered faster-than-light technology.[8] Hoid will be a main character in this trilogy.[9]

There may be two more currently untitled cosmere series written before this trilogy.[3]
