His mother petitions Lightsong to save their life with his divine Breath, as he has deathfever, and is on the verge of death. He lost so much weight that his skin was shriveled. Lightsong notes Halan's Breath is so weak that he would be dead before the end of the day, if not almost immediately.
Lightsong declines her request, and she is led away by the guards.
