“I saw men who placed themselves above others, and I saw them cast down. ”
“Don’t draw attention to yourself. Don’t set yourself above others. He who makes himself high will be cast low. ”
The Five Visions were a teaching in Austrism. They were guidelines spoken by the First Returned Vo, as a message from Austre.[3]
They taught the believers of Austre to be patient[4], humble, sacrificing, selfless,[5] and understanding[6] and to not be ostentatious,[7] selfish[8] or place themselves above others.[1]
One of the teaching was to try and understand other and not place yourself above them.[6]
To set an example in following the Five Visions, every noble or rich family was obligated by tradition to provide one person to the monasteries. [8]
History
Vo, the first Returned, was born aboard a ship sailing to the coast. He declared the five Visions and died the next week, according to Hoid. [9]
