Holmes is a citizen of Diggen's Point on Lumar. He is a baker and is a kind man.[1]
Holmes used to save the ends of loaves of bread to sell very cheaply to Tress. He invited Tress and her mother up onto the steps of his house so that they could have a good view of the return of the Duke the day that he introduced Dirk and the Princess of Dormancy.[1]
