Weedfingers is a Dzhamarian Bloodsealer that helped imprison Shai during the Forgery of Emperor Ashravan's soul.[1]

Appearance & Personality

He is a white-haired young man with milky white skin, red eyes, faintly translucent lips and long fingers. He often wears robes and a cloak, walking with unnatural litheness.[2]

He has a crude bone stamp with him and keeps some "pet" skeletals crafted from the skeletons of the dead.[2]

Gaotona regards him as as a loyal, discreet and effective guy.[2]

History

There are . . . times when one must accept the aid of darkness in order to contain a greater darkness.

—Gaotona[2]

He was sent into the Rose Palace by Gaotona and was ordered to craft wards with his Bloodsealing abilities to imprison Shai in a small room. He only requested Shai's bones as a payment.[2] Every morning, he usually came at the same time to renew his mark on the door.[3] Sometimes he came late, which was noted by Shai as a loophole.[4]

He had a lover in Dzhamar who wrote him letters. The arrival of those letters woke him up in the morning, which is why he came on time to stamp Shai.[5] When he didn't get news from home, he drank.[6]

When Shai was escaping from the Palace, he intended to capture her with his skeletals, but failed at the end.[7]

Trivia

"Weedfingers" is an insult directed at the Bloodsealer himself. Peter Ahlstrom believes the word probably means something similar to "butterfingers".
