For the majority of his life, he lived in the city of Kae, just outside of Elantris. Ten years after the Shaod, he underwent the transformation into an Elantrian, a transformation that was, at the time, incomplete. As an Elantrian, he brought peace and civilization to the people living in Elantris, who had devolved into a primitive, bestial society. He eventually discovered the key to restoring Elantris, and succeeded in repelling the efforts of Wyrn in conquering both Arelon and Teod.
