Saolin was an Elantrian who was thrown into Elantris shortly after Raoden was. He served as the head of Raoden's guard, protecting him and the others from the gangs of the city. He was severely injured when fighting Shaor's men, and fell to became a Hoed. Unlike the other Hoed, he was taken to Devotion's Shardpool to die.
