Salay is the helm master of the Crow's Song on Lumar.[1] Like Tress, she had set out in search of someone she had lost: her father. After Tress returned from her encounter with the dragon Xisis, she gave Salay a note indicating her father's location to be Filistrate City, Lumar.[2] Shortly after the events of Tress of the Emerald Sea, Salay and her father are reunited and he takes up the post of apprentice helmsman on their ship Two Cups.[3]
