Aonic

Aonic is an ethnic group that existed on the planet Sel. The peoples of Arelon, Teod, and, to a certain extent, Duladel were of Aonic descent. The Aonics migrated to the region surrounding Elantris several thousand years before the Reod occurred.

Elantris

Only people who are of Aonic descent could be taken by the Shaod and become Elantrians. The precise reason for this is unknown as Elantris predated the arrival the Aonics.
