The coughing shivers is a disease on Sel. After Prince Raoden became an Elantrian, his father, King Iadon, claimed that he had died from the coughing shivers.[1]
The coughing shivers disfigures its victims.[2] The disease is unlikely to kill young and fit men, although it can happen.[1]
