Fadrex City was a major trade hub in the Western Dominance of the Final Empire during the years between the Collapse and the Final Ascension.

After the Collapse, Ashweather Cett made it the capital of the Dominance, as the city's natural rock formations made it much more defensible than the more distant, original capital of the Western Dominance, Tremredare. During the absence of Cett due to the Siege of Luthadel, the Obligator Aradan Yomen came to power and reimported the social structures of the Final Empire.

Fadrex contains one of the Lord Ruler's supply caches. The city was besieged by Elend Venture for the cache. The siege resulted in an alliance between Venture and Yomen.
